LADIES FIRST

This project was born as a product of wanting to develop an idea I had been nurturing around thread work and typography and discovering some interesting statistics about the effects of Dementia on women. Several ideas married up in this campaign: the concept of decaying memory as a series of threads unravelling, the visual metaphor of cogs turning to represent the brain and using a traditionally feminine craft to represent specifically female issues. The campaign includes posters and postcards designed to raise awareness of the disproportionate effects of the disease on women.
